My fall resolution

So as you can tell, I'm not very good at keeping up with blogging. It's a shame, because I have so much to share!! This season's weddings were full of wonderful peopl eand all except for a few gave me good weather, even if it was between the raindrops. My fall resolution is to get my blog up to speed with all I've done this year.
Stay tuned....!

Bolton-Reuter Photography Image used on major billboard!

This past week Marion Salon refreshed the highly visible billboard they occupy opposite Friendly Honda on Route 44, and my image graces it! The beautiful couple in the photograph is salon owner Marion's daughter Haeley and her new husband Lee, captured at sunset at the Dutchess Manor. I was thrilled that they wanted to use the image! Marion's Salon has been voted #1 Bridal Salon in the Hudson Valley numerous times and for good reason. The hair and makeup for Haeley's wedding was unsurpassed!
Many thanks to the Morris family for this opportunity, and to Haeley and Lee for being not only a beautiful couple, but a pleasure to photograph.

Reflections on 2008-The Poughkeepsie Grand

Well, I'm back from a long period of non-blogging to continue my discussions and reflections on the different reception venues in the Hudson valley. Today I am posting an album of images taken at the lovely Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, which is a fantastic place to have a wedding celebration. I work there often and find it has alot to offer the discerning couple as far as the amenities and services are concerned. The location is also very convenient to almost everything in the Hudson Valley, including the Mid-Hudson Bridge and churches too numerous to list. Also, the bridal suites are gorgeous as you can see from the pictures!

I chose to build myself an example album for my studio that also showcases some of the ways I have begun to employ various design tecniques (brushes, textures, photo-impressionism and so on) in my albums. The couple whose images I used are Erin and Jeremy.

Erin and Jeremy were married in the summer of 2008 at a lovely church just across the river and were such a great couple to work with. They were as pleasant as they were photogenic!
They chose the Buttermilk Inn and Spa for their formal photo session and it has been one of my favorite locations for years. It's a beautiful, scenic spot that is just a hop, skip and a jump across the river. Enjoy!

Reflections on 2008: The Links at Unionvale

One of my favorite places to shoot a wedding has always been at the Links at Unionvale. Last year I shot several there and had great weather (I always do at the Links!) and great couples. The grounds are always impeccable maintained and Terri makes sure that every wedding runs perfectly and that her guests enjoy themselves.

Joe and Mary had a lovely day filled with all the right sentiment and great company from their friends and family. As always, there were many guests of Irish descent and I SO enjoyed their beautiful accents. They could say anything and it would sound like music to me!!

I thought Mary's choice of a "dress of color" was both fun and appropriate.

More of the Links in my next post

Each year for 4 consecutive years Hudson Valley Magazine has requested images I have made throughout the year for use in the magazine, which I am always excited about. This year they used three...one of which appears in this post. I am always so grateful when they choose to use my work!
So get moving brides, the grocery store magazine rack is calling you!!

Reflections on 2008: West Park Winery

In all the years I have been photographing weddings, I had not had the pleasure of doing one at West Park Winery until 2008! In fact, I was lucky enough to do 3 there this year and I really loved it for it's uniqueness and beauty.

Mikki-Jo and Jamie had a lovely day for their wedding and were such a great couple to photograph. They had a beautiful ceremony on the hill overlooking the winery with the company of their friends and family.

As you can see, the scenery there is breathtaking

Megan and Matt made the absolute most out of their rainy day wedding at the Winery and seemed to love every minute of it. I admired their attitude despite the rain and

we all worked hard to get them images they could love, despite Mother Nature!!

Brittany and Michael were a fun-loving couple and were blessed with a

gorgeous wedding day. Brittany is the face that appears at the top of my blog and was a super bride to photograp. As all my shutterbug friends will

agree, there is nothing like a "hammy" bride and groom!!

And WHAT a PARTY!!!!!
